Reflections on the Teaching Practice of Civil Case Studies

 

Abstract: The introduction of the case teaching method in the course of civil law, which is trying to change the traditional classroom teaching methods designed to impart knowledge, has the rationality of practice. However, the teaching method by explaining cases is not the true case method, but actually the method that takes cases as examples. Case studies method is the real one, which is designed to guide students to actively integrate into the case scenario, write case study report, expand the interactive discussion, and find the jurisprudence in the corresponding of facts and norms. It focuses on the development of legal wisdom and skills. Civil law teachers should take on more responsibility to cultivate the students in the development of legal wisdom and skills, and try to train their legal thinking ability of which the core is to find law, so that civil law teaching would develop towards the purpose of real legal education.
