Some Realism about Comparativism: Comparative Law Teaching in the Hegemonic Jurisdiction/ authored by Ugo Mattei

     Abstract: Making an empirical study by means of questionnaires of the teaching of comparative law in American law schools, the paper comes to the conclusion that comparative law is set up in 50% of American law schools at least, and shows simultaneously a declining trend in stronger environment and strong legal fields, but a rising trend in weak fields, with investigation of curriculum provision of comparative law and foreign law, full-time teachers, reference materials, degree settings, international exchange, and teaching mechanism of American Law schools. In addition, related conclusions are accounted for in this paper from globalization, Americanization, and competitive advantage of technology-oriented legal education.
